Mike Stories

Filming in the high Sierra Nevada Mountains on my regular paying gig as a TV news cameraman. (No, that's not my camera. I prefer something smaller that's not going to throw my back out.) Photo by Mike Teselle.

This page is devoted to stories that I’ve done for my day job as a TV news cameraman. These are stories that I have done entirely myself either as a photographer-producer or a photographer-producer. I try to do these as much as the work schedule permits.

Frequently I am approached about freelance work. I do accept freelance work on a case-by-case basis based on subject and time involved.  As I’m employed full-time as a TV cameraman, time and availability is always a factor. Also, because I am with a news organization there are some projects which I do not do because they can be ethical conflicts, such as political campaign ads. That said, I am always open to opportunities.

My camera of the moment is the Canon 7D DSLR camera, capable of shooting HD 1080 and 720 in 30p and 24p. Sennheiser wireles and shotgun mics, fluid head tripod, Arri and Chimera lighting.
